TKS Security asked us to get our “integration hats on” for this project.
We partnered up with TKS Security, Smithers Rapra, and Kantech to integrate a security card access system with a WordPress website that allows Smithers Rapra customers to pre-register at their amazing Winter Proving Grounds.
Smithers Rapra requested that their customers have the ability to register online for access to the proving grounds prior to their arrival. TKS Security already installed a state-of-the-art Kantech Access Control system, and needed a partner to help integrate that system with other technologies to achieve their goal to make registration a more streamlined process.
So we build a Kantech WordPress Integration to fit their needs!

How it helped
Here are the details about this custom system integration:
- We built a custom stand-alone WordPress website that matched the look and feel of the existing Smithers Rapra website
- Created a form to capture all the information necessary for customer pre-registration within the access control system
- Developed a Python script for checking and updating the Kantech System
- Setup scheduled tasks in remote Windows Server Environment
- Setup custom scripts to check/pull/delete data from WordPress/website
- The scheduled task fires our Python which checks the site and updates the Kantech system

The end result is a lot less busy work for Smithers Rapra during custom registration, a reusable solution for TKS Security, and another exciting and fun project for Freshwater!
